Metal cased wells---pumped by 6 foot Aermotor

Pulled one that hadn't been pulled for 15 years. The cylinder was a old cast iron cylinder & was still pumping, rod broke --- it was as thin as a razor blade. The cylinder came out but was hindered by roots. Water at 26 feet, couldn't drop string with nut to water due to roots. Re -cased with 3 inch sched. 40----put in 60 feet---slotted 20 feet. Installed new cylinder ( 2 x 18 brass) , rod, 1.25 pipe & water at 26 feet-------pumps fine---filled large tank in two days.

People with metal cased wells should put plastic in ASAP!

Parched Areas of U.S. Drill More, Deeper Water Wells
by Jeremy Verdusco | Jan. 15, 2014

Another day, another sign of drought. Or, at least a sign that we've overtapped water resources in many areas of the United States.

This time, the story comes from California—the Fresno area. Reporter Chuck Harvey at the www.thebusinessjournal.com writes about a water well "frenzy" there driven by persistent dry weather. In his reporting, he found that the number of county water well permits (both residential and agricultural) rose from about 500 in 2012 to nearly 900 in 2013. Start blogging—Regain Shuttle capabilities

Space exploration is critical to American preeminence.  Maintenance of our EO capabilities is critical to our security.  The shuttle had unique capabilities to take vehicles to EO, repair them or return them to earth, take large modules to EO for assembly to explore various destinations.
If we have to build new vehicle, we should get started.  Nasaproblems.com has plan to use orbiter airframes now in museum.  However, we must regain the shuttle capabilities with new vehicle if necessary!!
In any case we need everybody we can get to start blogging to stimulate public support to cause congress to take the required action.   Plenty of info on Real Space Act of 2013 a fb page, & keeptheshuttleflying.com, plus various Internet sites–just google topic.

Pump rod relief

Pump rod relief between mill & well rod

In the event of weep hole plug up, this relief will help avoid damage to head, rod , well pipe in event of freeze up. A 12 in chain will work fine or a 12 inch cylinder with plungers on both ends connected by 7/16 rods inserted between mill rod & well rod.
